What Motssa Does

Motssa helps businesses manage employee clock-ins, clock-outs, rosters, timesheets, leave requests, job-site attendance, manager reporting, and a private workplace crew feed.

Motssa is intended for workplace use. Employees receive an account from their employer or account administrator.

Information Collected

Motssa may collect and process the following information:

  • Account details, such as name, email address, role, phone number, and profile photo.
  • Workforce records, such as rosters, shifts, timesheets, leave requests, job sites, and attendance notes.
  • Location details used to verify job-site attendance during paid shifts.
  • Crew feed content you choose to share, including captions, comments, likes, photos, videos, and an attached work site.
  • Project progress records you submit, including completed quantities, checklist confirmations, site notes, blockers, and progress photos.
  • Notification details, such as push notification subscriptions and read status.
  • Work contact details displayed in the staff directory, including name, role, email address, mobile number, and profile photo.
  • Technical and security information needed to operate, protect, and troubleshoot the service.

Location And Background Location

Motssa uses location to verify that an employee is at or near an assigned job site when clocking in, while clocked in, and when clocking out.

While an employee is clocked in, Motssa may collect location in the background if the app is minimized, closed, or the device screen is locked. These background checks are used only for job-site attendance and shift verification. After a rostered finish time, two consecutive accurate checks outside every active job-site boundary may automatically complete a shift. Any shift still open at 6:00 pm is safely closed using the final reliable site-departure time, or 6:00 pm when no reliable departure is available. The employee and managers are notified. Location checks stop after clock-out.

Employees can deny or disable location permissions in device settings. If location is disabled, Motssa may not be able to clock the employee in or verify job-site attendance.

When you create a crew post, you can choose to use your current location to match the post to an active work site. A site is marked as verified only when the device location is inside that site's configured boundary. The feed shows the work-site name and verification status, not your raw GPS coordinates. Feed location is collected only while you are creating the post and is separate from background shift checks.

How Information Is Used

Motssa uses information to:

  • Record clock-ins, clock-outs, timesheets, and rostered work.
  • Verify attendance at job sites and flag shift warnings for manager review.
  • Support manager dashboards, payroll review, CSV exports, and workforce administration.
  • Send attendance, roster, reminder, and account notifications.
  • Operate the private crew feed and help team members recognise work, communicate updates, and identify the relevant work site.
  • Show assigned project plans and targets, document completed work, and provide managers with progress reports and photo evidence.
  • Maintain security, prevent misuse, and keep the service reliable.

Who Can Access Information

Employee information is available to authorised managers and administrators for the business account that provided the employee login. Motssa does not sell personal information.

Crew posts, comments, profile names, profile photos, attached work-site names, and site-verification status are available to active users in the same Motssa workplace. Feed photos and videos are stored privately and served using time-limited access links.

Project plans are available to employees assigned to that project. Submitted quantities, checklist updates, notes, blockers, and progress photos are available to authorised managers and assigned project team members. Progress photos are stored privately and served using time-limited access links.

Active users in the same Motssa workplace can also access each other's name, role, work email address, mobile number, and profile photo through the staff directory so they can communicate directly. Passwords and authentication information are never included in the directory.

Motssa may use trusted service providers for hosting, database storage, authentication, file storage, email, push notifications, and related app operations.

Retention

Workforce records may be retained for payroll, audit, workplace administration, dispute resolution, security, tax, and legal compliance purposes. Some records may need to be kept even after an account is disabled or deleted.

When information is no longer required, it may be deleted, anonymised, or de-identified according to the employer's business, legal, and operational requirements.

Account And Data Deletion

Employees can request account deletion or data deletion through their employer or account administrator, or by following the steps on the Motssa account deletion page.

Security

Motssa uses authentication, role-based access controls, encrypted network connections, and hosted service providers to help protect information. No internet-based service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but reasonable safeguards are used to reduce unauthorised access, misuse, or loss.
